Attorney Moyer is a native to the area graduating from high school in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Area. During high school, Attorney Moyer was a tri-sport athlete and worked part-time for local construction companies, all while earning his Eagle Scout rank at a young age.
Soon after, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History with concentrations in International Relations and World Affairs from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. While at West Chester University, Attorney Moyer was a Leadership Consultant, and the President of The Friars’ Society – a service organization – that averaged over 1,000 hours community service per semester, and helped fund raise thousands of dollars to help provide for a family in need from the Crime Victims Center during the holiday season.
Following his undergrad studies, Attorney Moyer attended Florida Coastal School of Law where he competed on the school’s Moot Court Honor Board arguing cutting edge legal issues, and became the nationally ranked first place team. In addition to earning his Juris Doctorate, Attorney Moyer has a Certificate in Research, Writing, and Drafting from Florida Coastal School of Law.
During law school Attorney Moyer also completed a judicial externship for two different Court of Common Pleas Judges gaining irreplaceable experience in both civil and criminal cases. During this time Attorney Moyer was responsible for the legal research, and drafting of judicial opinions for a high volume of cases along with being directly involved with multiple trials. From this experience, Attorney Moyer was able to learn what it takes for a client to be successful in their case that he now implements with his clients.
Attorney Moyer has helped his clients get compensation that has reached fourteen (14) times what was initially offered, and in less time than his clients had anticipated.
Attorney Moyer has also tried a series of cases for his clients including representing his client in a motor-vehicle incident where a jury awarded over a quarter of a million dollars for the defendant driver’s “outrageous conduct” of driving under the influence (DUI). Specifically, the jury awarded $311,498.45 with the largest portion of $200,000.00 as punitive/punishment damages against the defendant for driving under the influence after a one day trial in which the jury deliberated for only about one (1) hour. Some cases Attorney Moyer has handled include:
- Settlement just under $500,000.00 in a motor-vehicle case when there was no offer, a denial of liability, and disputed if client’s injuries were related to the incident;
- $500,000.00 settlement in slip/trip and fall case where construction defendants denied liability, and disputed if client’s injuries were caused by their negligence;
- $295,000.00 settlement in motor-vehicle case where insurance maintained defendant was not at fault, but instead the injured client was responsible for the incident;
- $70,000.00 settlement close to the defendant tortfeasor’s full policy limits when the initial offer was only $5,000.00;
- $64,000.00 settlement on a motor-vehicle collision when the initial offer was $7,500.00;
- $57,500.00 settlement for the full policy limits of the defendant tortfeasor; and numerous other settlements for his clients in the six figure range, and for the full policy limits of those that caused his client’s injuries.
Attorney Moyer has also helped numerous people get the Social Security benefits they have wrongfully been denied. In the Firm’s Criminal Division, Attorney Moyer has represented clients for charges ranging from summary offenses to more severe charges carrying multiple years in state prison and thousands of dollars in fines, and even after helping clients petition for an expungement of their charges.
